Week 1 [13/01/2025 - 19/01/2025]: What I have read this week...

What I have read this week...

I have decided to do a weekly post on Sundays, only a short one, just to inform you all what I have been reading that current week. When I do these little posts I will try to include everything I have read, even if it does not seem relevant to the general themes of my blog posts from within that week.

This week has seen me read a little bit, though not much in the way of variety.

1: French!

Now first of all, I do daily lessons on my phone with French with an app and some of the tasks get me to read French. Lirez-vous Français anyone?

2: The Testaments (2019) by Margaret Atwood.

This is my latest Atwood text that I have been sinking my teeth into and I am yet to finish this book. I always knew at some point that I would read as of course it followed her 1985 bestseller The Handmaid's Tale.

3: The National Trust Magazine.

As a National Trust member, I love looking through the magazine to see if there is anything interesting. I also attempt the prize crossword and sometimes you can get clues relating to some of the magazine's articles!

4: The National Trust Handbook.

Any National Trust member will know that the handbook is such a handy guide at finding new places across different parts of the country - from the West Midlands to Cornwall, to Yorkshire, the Lake District and even London. I always enjoy reading it to plan future visits for a lovely day out.

5: Instagram.

I must admit that I have read some Instagram posts this week in relation to what's been happening lately. Though after Mark Zuckerberg's latest news about scrapping fact-checking policies, I think I'll be keeping Instagram scrolls to the bare minimum. There is still some stuff I like to know from sources/people I can trust out there. The only alternative is X and that does not even come up for consideration.

6: A packet...

I read the cooking instructions on a packet of sweet potato fries yesterday as I was trying them out for dinner. They actually were not that bad.

That is all for what I have been reading this week. Not much I'm afraid! Maybe next week I will have something more exciting to share with you.
