Opinion piece: Having a ban on transgender people in sports.
Hello all, I decided I wanted to create this post because I am seeing and hearing a lot of stuff about Trump banning trans women in sports. Therefore I decided to do my research and find the facts because I do not know everything. But if people are going to talk about something then I think they should get their facts to be informed. Take a look at the 1980s and the HIV/AIDs pandemic. People then did not know anything about it to begin with. Look at how badly this affected gay men. People lost their lives, they were shut out and excluded from society. I'm sure people will agree with me that there was blatant homophobia when society excluded homosexual men. So is it not transphobic if trans people are excluded from society? Stopping trans people from using the toilets that fit their current gender identity AND the one associated with their sex at birth is a clear example of this.
Now people will often say that trans women have an advantage over cisgender women and that their testosterone is too high. But how can anyone generalise a whole group in society and stereotype them? That would be the same as claiming "all older people cannot accept people being LGTBQIA+" or "all immigrants are bad and they steal our homes". These two statements are stereotyping and I disagree with both of them.
Also when people come out and say stuff such as "trans women have a higher testosterone over cis women", what makes them say this? Are they scientists or doctors who specifically know this? Then there is the fact that there are other things to consider... After you have read this article, you can thank me in the comments if you wish to. Or you can chuck your toys out of the pram and have a tantrum because you found out the truth was not what you wanted.
