What I read last month...

Hi everyone. I'm back to tell you some of the stuff I have been reading in September. Over the past month I have enjoyed reading some different stuff and I am looking forward to stuff I shall read this month. Here is my list for September.

1: For the millionth time - my French.

Those of you that regularly read my blog will be aware that I am learning French daily on my phone. Every day I get various tasks to improve my knowledge of French. These include speaking, listening, typing and reading. I am slowly making progress and have no plans to stop. I find it fun and it will help me if ever I go to France, which is not out of the question.

2: Castle Dor (1940) by Daphne du Maurier.

As Daphne du Maurier was author of the month, last month and I had the book sitting on my shelf, I decided to read her 1940 novel Castle Dor. Check out my review from last month to see what I thought of it.

3: Facebook and Instagram.

I use these two to keep connected and updated on things that matter to me. Also some people like to get in touch with me or make me feel included in their lives.

4: Recipes.

I recently got a bunch of new recipes to try out, some standalone and some in a food magazine. I actually found one that I thought would be great to try. I like to try and be healthier than I am, I know a number of fussy people. Then consider that I like hash browns and I like parsnips. So what do you make of parsnip has browns? The recipe shows a picture of them in a burger... If I had a burger it would contain chicken or turkey mince as the meat! Yum, yum...

5: Board game rules.

A few people and I love playing board games. Maybe I love playing them just a little bit more but that is not the point. I have had to re-read certain rules to confirm stuff when people are not sure. Still, it is fun even when I do not win. Sometimes I do but not always and I am fine with that.

6: Train times and ticket prices.

I am going away to see some family so I looked into train times and prices. I was reading various train websites to see how extortionate and long the journey would be. It was settled that I would not use the nightmarish train. There are always alternatives.

7: Hotel websites.

For similar reasons as the previous one, I wanted to investigate hotel prices for going away. Who knew how complicated it would be when you cannot make arrangements far in advance?

8: My own writing.

Lately I have been going over old poems that I had written, reading them and thinking about the work I did back in my days at university.

That concludes my list of things I read in September. Check back in about a month's time to see what October's reading list includes.

Until next time,

Thomas.
