What I have read this month...
Here is my third post today and it is what I have read this month... December can be a busy time of year for a lot of people including me. But I always find time to do some reading...
1: My French...
Reading challenges are just one part of my French which I keep doing to learn more and continually improve. I am on my way to 700 days!
2: My chess...
I love learning my chess too as I have enjoyed playing it since being a child. I do alongside French and hope to keep going for as long as I possibly can.
3: Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.
I was reading through parts of this play to remind myself of a quote and where it was in the play. As you can see I reviewed along with some of the many film versions that there have been.
4: Hotel information.
As I went away this month, I was reading information on some hotels I was staying in. One of the hotels offered a free breakfast although there was no indication what that free breakfast entailed. It turned out quite a lot actually!
5: Recipes.
With Christmas coming, I spent quite a bit of time reading about various Christmassy recipes and varying ways of doing things for Christmas.
6: Book titles, authors book blurbs.
I have been here and there, coming across book shops or charity shops. I read book titles, blurbs and authors to gain a better understanding of a book. This is to decide if I want it of course!
7: Treasure Island (1883) by Robert Louis Stevenson.
This month I started reading this adventure novel which I first read at university. I do not actually remember most of what happened so I decided some time I would read it again. That time is now.
8: Menus, more menus and even more menus.
Going away means I need places to eat. I check menus to see what's what and what I really think I just might want...
9: Facebook and Instagram.
I have been keeping myself updated with stuff I want to be in the know about. From corrupt politicians lying about benefit claimants to good news that is happening in the world, I want to know about it. I do always check stuff when I read it. I never believe something straight away. If I see some news crop up multiple times from various sources that I do trust then yes, I am more likely t believe than a random bit of news from one right wing newspaper for example. Just because some in society are liars or some do not want to hear the truth, I am not going to sit back silently and say nothing.
That is my list of some things I have read this month. Do check back in January next year to see what I have been reading throughout the month.
Until next time,
Thomas.
