What I read this month...
Here is my post today and it is what I have read this month... As the first month of the new year ends, this is a look back at what I have been reading throughout the month.
1: Treasure Island (1883) by Robert Louis Stevenson.
This adventure novel by Robert Louis Stevenson was something I devoured with Stevenson being author of the month this month. You can check out my review of the novel from earlier in the month.
2: Transport information.
Because I am likely going out for the day somewhere I have been looking at transport options and information to ensure I know where to get on and off, along with making sure I would be able to get home.
3: My French.
Every time I do my French I am given reading tasks to help me with the learning of French. It is something I always do and never plan to stop. I have been learning French for over seven hundred days now with my Chess.
4: Book titles, authors book blurbs.
Reading books means hunting for books by author and/or title. Sometimes I read blurbs to find out what a book is about. I am often in a library or bookshop after a book or two.
5: Event information.
I have been reading upon on information regarding some events I am planning to go. Things such as who is going to be there, what time it is on and how much it costs are all important to know.
6: Social media.
I have been on social media reading information I want to know about. Mostly it has been about the Epstein files. The problem I find is that while it's a good thing that the files are finally being released, none of this should ever have happened. Everyone culpable should never have done anything and now should face punishment. But notice how there have been no arrests! This is absolutely horrendous and I feel for all the victims. I stand with anyone who had to suffer at the hands of these rich, horrible, greedy, monstrous criminals! Because that is what they are: criminals.
7: My chess.
Since I started learning chess I have not stopped. I mean, I already knew how to play chess but I have improved since I started learning it on the app alongside learning French. I am going to keep going and hope that when I next play an actual game of chess, I can apply what I have been learning.
8: The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1886) by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Going away means I need places to eat. I check menus to see what's what and what I really think I just might want...
9: Menus.
As I am going out for the day, I have been going over menus to see what's on offer for where I as going. It is not just me and it is a treat for someone else so it comes down to what their choice is from what will be surrounding us.
That is some stuff that I have been reading in January. Keep your eyes on lookout for February's post to see what I have been across the next month.
Until next time,
Thomas.
