Some pride events happening ths year...
Hello everyone! As summer is upon we will be getting pride events happening! Tomorrow for example Canterbury pride in Kent's only city is happening with Booty Luv, Atomic Kitten's Natasha Hamilton, drag queen - Drag with No Name who has been doing drag for 25 years and many more. The best part is this is free and you do not need a ticket! Kent has other prides such as Medway (which last year saw some great acts including Sydnie Christmas from Britain's Got Talent), Dover, Deal, Folkestone and Ashford to name a few. This is just one county. There will be pride events around the whole country from the big to the small.
The southeast of England does also boast other prides such as London and Trans pride in London. Various towns in Sussex such as Worthing, Crawley, Eastbourne and Hastings will have their own prides. The big one of course is Brighton Pride on Saturday the 1st and Sunday the 2nd of August. This year is the 25th anniversary and boasts the headlines act of Raye and Diana Ross. How iconic? RuPaul and Melanie C have DJ sets meanwhile Leigh-Anne from Little Mix and Holly Johnson from Frankie Goes to Hollywood will be dropping in to perform some of their songs.
There are other prides in the country that can be bigger events such as Birmingham pride which recently happened and Bristol pride happening on the 11th July. That seems to be a good one with acts including Sister Sledge, Jason Donovan, RuPaul's Drag Race's Trinity the Tuck and Catrin Feelings from Rupaul's Drag Race UK. There will also be lots of local talent too so you check that out.
June is filled with pride events ranging from Wolverhampton to Redruth to Salford. In fact there are too many pride events to highlight all them. There is a website which I came across that mentions a wide range of different pride events happening this year. I shall include the link below.
Until next time,
Thomas (they/them)>
